The Klingen Chamber Orchestra (KCO) was founded in 2021 by maestro Sipan Olah. The orchestra performs a diverse repertoire featuring Armenian, British, and international classical music. With twenty-five professional musicians, the orchestra takes its name from the German word “Klingen,” meaning “sound,” reflecting its dedication to musical excellence. Since its foundation, KCO has gained a strong reputation among audiences and media in the United Kingdom and internationally. In 2021, the orchestra achieved great success with a concert at St Cuthbert’s Church, London, performing symphonic works by Alexander Spendiaryan and Arno Babajanian. In May 2022, KCO presented Alexander Arutiunian’s Violin Concerto with renowned violinist Ani Batikyan. Later that year, in October 2022, the orchestra introduced orchestral works by L. Sarian to UK audiences for the first time at Our Lady of Victories Church, London. In 2023, KCO performed the UK premiere of “Khachaturiana,” arranged by R. Altunian and Sipan Olah, at Smith Square Hall, Westminster, during the Khachaturian Gala Concert. The orchestra continued its artistic journey with a 2024 concert dedicated to J. S. Bach and a 2025 gala celebrating A. Vivaldi at the iconic St Cuthbert’s Church, Kensington. In November 2025, KCO presented the UK premiere of Alexander Arutiunian’s Piano Concertino with acclaimed pianist Nareh Armaghanian, alongside orchestral works by Arutiunian, Saryan, and Mozart’s Symphony No. 40 ” in St Paul’s Church, Westminster. The vision of Klingen Chamber Orchestra is to support young professional musicians, provide valuable orchestral experience, exchange experiences and deliver high-quality performances while sharing new masterpieces by Armenian and international composers under the leadership of maestro Sipan Olah.
